Is Amsterdam good for vegans?

According to Happy Cow, there are more than 500 vegan and vegetarian-friendly restaurants in Amsterdam. This means that if you’re on the hunt for tasty vegan food, you won’t be disappointed. It’s not surprising, considering a number of Dutch people are flexitarian or plant-based.

In 2023, one report by the Good Food Institute and NielsenIQ suggested that the Netherlands is home to the sixth-largest plant-based market in Europe. And in 2020, Chef’s Pencil labeled the city as the fifth best in the world for vegans, alongside Berlin and Hamburg.

Are there any vegan hotels in Amsterdam?

There aren’t any 100 percent vegan hotels in Amsterdam, but there are plenty of vegan-friendly choices. De Bedstee, for example, is an eco-friendly boutique capsule hotel that only serves vegetarian food. It’s also located in the city’s museum district, so it’s in prime position for visiting local attractions.

Another great option is the Conscious Hotel in Amsterdam’s popular Oud-West district. It’s another eco-friendly spot, complete with furniture made from recycled materials, a green rooftop, a living plant wall, and an organic breakfast buffet with plenty of vegan options. The hotel is just around the corner from Vondelpark, one of the city’s most famous public urban parks.
