THC enters the vegan world
Though THC itself is vegan, many edibles and infused products have not been vegan until recent years. The world of adult, infused-food items has vastly expanded with increased legality, and interest in plant-based options. In fact, a new vegan restaurant opening in Minneapolis, MN this May is featuring THC on its menus.
Led by Chef Heather Klein and entrepreneur Michelle Courtright, former owner of Fig + Farro, Juniper highlights seasonal, locally grown food and non-alcoholic drinks. Juniper’s food and drinks won’t be infused with THC, exactly. Instead, the restaurant will offer a small juniper-infused THC tincture to be ordered a la carte or with a prix fixe dinner, similar to a wine pairing. The prix fixe dinners are chef-guided and THC tinctures are paired with each course.
In the world of vegan products, popular and very vegan-friendly bagel chain Yeastie Boys and elevated edibles brand Kiva Confections collaborated to create a Munchies chocolate bar Kiva launches in small batches every year. The bar is a cold water, hash-infused dark chocolate bar with a generous sprinkle of Yeastie Boys’ signature Everything Bagel salty seasoning. This is just one of the vegan edible offerings available today.
