Let’s be honest, the happiest place on earth isn’t too happy when you’re hangry. Thankfully the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA has followed in the footsteps of its Florida cousin and expanded its plant-based options to include delicious treats beyond giant pickles and apple slices.
Disney’s mission is to make their guests’ wishes come true—which, for many, includes feasting on delicious vegan treats. So lace up, don a pair of Mickey ears, and enjoy your day to the fullest while you munch your way around the park.
Note: this guide specifically addresses Disneyland. You’ll need a separate ticket for neighboring California Adventure, though there are plenty of year-round and seasonal vegan eats there as well.

How to order vegan at Disneyland
Throughout the park’s many eateries, plant-based dishes are marked with a green leaf icon on menus; and on the app, simply select “Plant-Based” to peruse through the vegan options.
Disneyland
However, there are a handful of “accidentally vegan” items that don’t bear the plant-based icon simply because Disney didn’t intentionally make them vegan. To borrow from Bob Ross, these are “happy accidents” that just happen to be plant-based. Rest assured, these aren’t made with any animal ingredients. We’ll cover these in our guide below to ensure you don’t miss out on any tasty surprises.
Where to find the best vegan options at Disneyland, California
These delicious plant-based options will keep you fueled at the happiest place on earth.
Disneyland
1 The Plaza Inn
Main Street
If you’re not a Magic Key holder, you’ll arrive at the park early and zip down Main Street to get in line for Space Mountain—that’s the best trick to get your ticket’s worth. Day pass guests simply don’t have the luxury of time to dawdle. However, if you need something in your stomach before traversing multiple miles through queues, Main Street does have a charming Starbucks to get you going.
But if you’re interested in dining with Mickey and Minnie, make a reservation for the character breakfast at the Plaza Inn. The meal is served buffet-style, but you can let them know ahead of time (or politely inform your server) that you are vegan. The kitchen is equipped to make vegan versions of the famous Mickey Waffles as well as tofu scramble, breakfast potatoes, and fruit.
Happiest Vegan on Earth
2 Carnation Cafe
Main Street
You can swing by Carnation Cafe any time of day and find a filling vegan option. During the breakfast hours (generally between 8am and 10:30am), opt for the overnight oats served with fresh berries and bananas.
And for lunch and dinner, the Hearty Veggie Burger comes complete with a housemade bean patty, vine-ripened tomato, slaw, and chipotle mayo. You can also grab a Carnation Garden Salad, and for dessert, you can’t go wrong with the Brownie à la Mode. According to the Disney-focused blog Happiest Vegan On Earth, the veggie burger “never disappoints.”
3 Red Rose Taverne
Fantasyland
This quick service concept offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner with menus scheduled throughout the day, but for vegans, the plant-based option is the same every meal service. The plant-based Little Town Harvest Bowl is essentially a grain bowl of quinoa, roasted mushrooms, cauliflower, tomato, arugula, potatoes, and a spicy aioli. It’s simple, but bright, tasty, and filling.
4Cafe Daisy
Mickey’s Toontown
Before lining up for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway (and trust us, the wait is well worth it), grab a bite at Cafe Daisy. Here, the plant-based option is the Spring Garden Wrap, which consists of romaine lettuce, quinoa, toasted pumpkin seeds, and creamy lemon dressing served with a side of housemade chips.
5 Galactic Grill
Tomorrowland
For some much needed morning fuel, opt for the Spicy Chorizo Country Breakfast Burrito. This hearty handheld features chorizo, spiced potatoes, vegan egg, grilled peppers, onions, cheese, pico de gallo, and chipotle sauce all wrapped in a spinach flour tortilla. And come lunch and dinner, the Black Bean Veggie Wrap—made with black beans, fire-roasted corn, mixed greens, cheese, and a sun-dried tomato spread—is a healthy, delicious option.

6 Alien Pizza Planet
Tomorrowland
Famished after spending over an hour waiting for Space Mountain? There’s one dish marked with the plant-based icon at Alien Pizza Planet: Sesame-Ginger Vegetable Noodles (they “definitely hit the spot,” according to Happiest Vegan On Earth). This dish consists of stir-fried vegetables served atop a bed of noodles, all tossed in a sesame-ginger sauce and garnished with cilantro and scallions.
But, if you’re in the mood for pizza—it is called Alien Pizza Planet, after all—the kitchen can make a personal-sized, gluten-free, and vegan cheese pizza. Honestly speaking, however, it tastes like an afterthought and is one of the park’s less impressive vegan offerings.

7 Tiki Juice Bar
Adventureland
Dole Whip is legendary. The classic pineapple-flavored frozen treat is a sorbet with the light-and-creamy consistency of soft serve. The recipe consists of pineapple juice, stabilizers (for texture), and water. It’s pumped out of a soft-serve machine to make gravity-defying swirls.
Bear in mind that, unlike other frozen confections throughout the theme park, Dole Whip is exclusively sold from the tiki hut just outside the Enchanted Tiki Room, which means the line will be long on any given sunny California day.
Pro tip: Order your whip from the back side of the hut, otherwise known as The Tropical Hideaway—few people know you can order from this side.
The whip is served in a cup or as a refreshing Dole Whip Float (Dole Whip served over pineapple juice and topped with a bright red maraschino cherry). You may notice other fruity Dole Whip flavors such as strawberry and mango, both of which are also vegan. The Tropical Hideaway also offers floats and whips gussied up with a variety of toppings, such as the Chile-Mango Whip dressed in chamoy and chile-lime seasonings. Offerings rotate seasonally, and not all toppings are vegan, so be sure to check with a cast member before ordering.
8 Bengal Barbecue
Adventureland
Craving more vegetables or a quick, easy bite? Bengal Barbecue offers an Outback Vegetable Skewer, which is basically just roasted vegetables on a skewer (note: it shares a grill with the meat options). The restaurant also offers the Hummus Trio, which is served with fresh vegetables.

9 Ronto Roasters
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Disneyland’s most far-out and hyped-up land is also home to one of the most buzzed-about vegan options in the entire theme park: the Ronto-less Garden Wrap. Omnivores have even deemed it tastes better than the animal meat-based Ronto Wrap. This cult menu item features a plant-based sausage, spicy kimchi slaw, gochujang spread, and crunchy pickled cucumber wrapped in a hot pita. We suspect there may be a sprinkle of pixie dust on there, too, to make it taste so magical.
Disneyland
10 Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
While the Ronto-less Garden Wrap has developed a cult-following, our personal favorite can be found nearby at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. The Felucian Kefta & Hummus Garden Spread features spectacularly seasoned Impossible meatballs served with herbed hummus, tomato-cucumber relish, and pita. We’d travel to the end of the galaxy for this vegan option any day!
11 Milk Stand
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Hydrate like a jedi with the Blue and Green Milk options at this Galaxy’s Edge outpost. Thicker than a glass of milk but not quite a slushy, these colorful concoctions are made with a rice-coconut milk blend. Blue Milk delivers a punch of fruit flavor while Green Milk is more citrusy and tropical.
12 Oga’s Cantina
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Galaxy’s Edge is also the only place in Disneyland that serves alcohol—besides the elite Blue Bayou restaurant. A number of the drinks are vegan-friendly, but watch out for those containing honey and dairy. Luckily, these ingredients are notated on the menu, but when in doubt, ask a cast member.
13 River Belle Terrace
Frontierland
For a slower, take-your-time kind of meal, find a seat at River Belle Terrace. Both the brunch and dinner menus include Roasted Squash, which is served with heirloom tomato sauce, heritage grains succotash, greens, and tofu. For Deviled Meatballs is another option come dinner time, and you can also order Cherry Oat Cobbler with toasted oat streusel.
Happiest Vegan On Earth
14 Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante
Frontierland
After you’ve ridden “the wildest ride in the wilderness” and screamed “Goat!” after careening down a canyon (it’s a thing), satisfy your hunger at Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante. The breezy eatery is somewhat tucked away from the traffic of park guests, making it a nice, shady respite. Take a breath and tuck into the Soy Chorizo con Papa Tacos served with salsa fresca. The Cinnamon Crisps and Crispy Chips con Limon are also vegan. If you’re just looking for something to tie you over, a bag of chips, some salsa, and a bowl of refried beans is an excellent and hearty option.
15 Hungry Bear Cafe
Critter Country
For a meal with a view, head to Hungry Bear Cafe. Located on the shore of the Rivers of America, the restaurant offers waterfront views and diners will frequently spot the Mark Twain Riverboat as it embarks on its short, scenic journey through the water.
Here, the vegan option is a Classic Impossible Cheeseburger, which comes complete with dairy-free cheese, lettuce, housemade sauce, and fries. The restaurant is set to temporarily close on July 8, so if lunch with a view sounds like your cup of tea, be sure to stop by before then.
16 Cafe Orleans
New Orleans Square
If you’re not in the mood for a burger, you could enjoy a more vegetable-forward meal at Cafe Orleans. The French-inspired menu offers a red pepper-citrus hummus served with lavash and both raw and pickled vegetables. After you’ve enjoyed this appetizer, for your main course, dig into vegan ratatouille. However, the real star of the menu is the astounding vanilla bean crème brûlée tart.
17Tiana’s Palace
New Orleans Square
One of the newest eateries at the theme park, Tiana’s Palace serves up Louisiana-inspired fare. The 7 Greens Gumbo features white beans, okra, yams, sweet potatoes, and heirloom rice. It’s filling, comforting, and packed with hearty and healthy vegetables. Once the Splash Mountain renovation is complete and the ride reopens as Tiana’s Bayou, we’ll definitely be filling up on gumbo after our bayou excursion.
18 Blue Bayou
New Orleans Square
To end the day with a bang, make reservations way, way in advance for a coveted seat at the Blue Bayou—the fine dining restaurant within the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. For your appetizer, enjoy the Strawberry & Pistachio Spinach Salad. The bright and creamy Pistachio Lemon Basil Pasta is a filling, tasty main, and for dessert, enjoy the delectable vegan crème brûlée tart. Like your park ticket, this meal comes with a considerable price tag, but the experience is worth it at least once.

19 Bonus: Snack carts!
Disneyland hosts a plethora of strategically stationed snack carts throughout the park, each specializing in a specific craving. There are popcorn carts (yes, the popcorn is vegan), frozen delight carts, pretzel carts, and produce carts. These grab-and-go options are ideal for the Disney power guest—someone with boundless energy, a strong back, and solid walking shoes who intends to spend every second of their day seeing all Disneyland has to offer by way of attractions.
Fuel your enthusiasm with a salted Mickey-shaped pretzel; cool off with a chocolate-covered frozen banana, Outshine Fruit Bar, or Olaf Frozen Lemonade Strawberry bar; and nourish yourself with a giant pickle or fresh fruit from a produce stand.
Hold on tight to your Mickey ears headband! It’s going to be a gloriously delicious and magical vegan day at Disneyland.
